Question 1

Do I need to book Park Güell tickets in advance?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Entry to the Monumental Zone is by timed ticket only, sold online; there is no ticket office at the gate. Slots are limited to about 400 people per half hour, and mornings sell out several days ahead from spring to autumn.

Question 2

How much do Park Güell tickets cost?

Accepted Answer

The official entry ticket is €18 for adults, €13.50 for children aged 7–12 and over-65s, free under 7. Tickets with audio guide start around €18–20, guided tours around €20–30, and combos with the Sagrada Família from about €60.

Question 3

Is Park Güell free?

Accepted Answer

Most of the park is free: the woods, paths and viewpoints. The Monumental Zone — the dragon stairway, the Hypostyle Room, the terrace with the mosaic bench and the gatehouses — needs a ticket. Residents of Barcelona have free access during reserved hours.

Question 4

How long does the visit take?

Accepted Answer

Plan 1 h 30 to 2 hours inside the Monumental Zone, plus 30 to 60 minutes for the free park. Once inside you can stay until closing, but you cannot leave and come back.

Question 5

What does the 30-minute entry window mean?

Accepted Answer

Your ticket shows a start time; you can enter up to 30 minutes after it. After that, entry is not guaranteed. Inside, there is no time limit.

Question 6

Which entrance should I use?

Accepted Answer

Carrer d'Olot is the historic main entrance, through the gatehouses and up the dragon stairway. Carretera del Carmel, at the top, is reached by bus 24 and avoids the climb from the metro. Both accept all tickets.

Question 7

Is Park Güell suitable for children and pushchairs?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with some effort: paths are steep and partly stepped, so a baby carrier beats a pushchair. Children under 7 enter free but still need a ticket. Family guided tours exist on some dates.

Question 8

Can I visit Park Güell and the Sagrada Família the same day?

Accepted Answer

Easily. They are 25 minutes apart by metro. Book Park Güell for the morning (9:30–11:00) and the Sagrada Família for the afternoon; combo tickets cover both time slots in one booking.

Question 9

Is the Gaudí House Museum included?

Accepted Answer

No. The house where Gaudí lived is inside the park but has its own ticket and entry time. Some Tiqets combos include it; otherwise book it separately.

Question 10

What are the opening hours?

Accepted Answer

Tourist time slots run from 9:30 to 17:30 in winter and later in spring and summer, every day of the year. Early mornings (7:00–9:30) and evenings (from 18:00) are reserved for residents.

Question 11

Can I cancel or change my ticket?

Accepted Answer

Official tickets are non-refundable. Tickets booked through Tiqets show their own policy on the product page: most entry tickets and tours allow free cancellation up to 24 hours before the visit.

Question 12

Is there a dress code or bag limit?

Accepted Answer

No dress code. Bring water and sun protection: the terrace has no shade. Large luggage is not practical on the paths and there are no lockers.
